The Center\u2019s work received international recognition \u2014 the French organization CITEPA (Centre Interprofessionnel Technique d\u2019\u00c9tudes de la Pollution Atmosph\u00e9rique) awarded an official Certificate of Recognition, affirming IGTIC\u2019s status as a key institution in Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The awarding of the Certificate confirms IGTIC\u2019s recognized leadership in sustainable industrial transformation in the region. Its work positions it as a key institution in promoting environmentally responsible and technologically advanced practices throughout Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saltanat Almurzaeva, Head of the Expert Evaluation Department at the IGTIC BAT Bureau, also delivered a plenary session presentation at TFTEI. In her presentation titled <em>&#8220;Development of BAT Reference Documents in Kazakhstan and the Experience of Implementing Integrated Environmental Permits&#8221;<\/em>, she presented Kazakhstan\u2019s systematic experience in developing 20 sectoral BAT reference documents and launching the Integrated Environmental Permitting (IEP) mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IEP replaces the previous fragmented system of separate permits for emissions, discharges, and waste disposal. The new approach requires enterprises to adopt a comprehensive view of environmental impact control, comply with BAT reference documents, and undergo mandatory production modernization. This ensures long-term sustainability, regulatory transparency, and increased resource efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kazakhstan\u2019s presentation sparked great interest and received positive feedback from international experts.
